How to Enable or Disable Alerts in Windows Live Messenger

Solution

1. Click Tools->Options.
   
2. Click Alerts in navigation bar.
   
3. Here you can enable certain alerts by checking the relevant iotions or uncheck one to disable it.
4. If you want to set sounds of these alerts. Just change to Sounds tab. There exists lots of options under many categories.
   
5. Then click apply to finish your setting.

Solution

1. From a Windows Live Messenger window, click the "Show Menu" button, selecting "Tools" - "Options" (see the below screenshot).

2. When the "Options" dialog box appears, click "Sign In" in the left pane.
   
   

   Click Sign In
   
   
3. In the right pane, underneath "General", uncheck "Automatically run Windows Live Messenger when I log on to Windows".
   
   

   Uncheck
   
   
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
