Why You Shouldn't Increase Online Traffic - 4 of 5

You shouldn't increase online traffic without some preparatory steps at your website. Some online businesses have website usability deficiencies with or without knowing them. So, increased online traffic could bring visitors to their websites, but cannot lead them to use the site according to their purpose.

First Increase Website Usability, Second Increase Online Traffic

In order to add to the website usability, you have to look at different aspects of a website including:

1. The navigation theme of the website should be clear and easy to use all throughout the web pages of the site.

2. There should be some HTML links to other pages of the website for the sake of good indexation of all pages in search engines.

3. Links shouldn't lead to "under construction" pages.

4. The webpages should load fast without time out.

5. Website design should match the audience's needs.

6. The website's host should be able to handle the increased online traffic.

7. The textual content of your website should be easily understood by non-English speakers.

8. The design and layout should look the same in all web browsers and be read easily.

9. The landing pages should be clutter-free and to the point.

10. There should be attractive headlines persuading site visitors to go deeper into he textual topic of the website.

11. And this list of website usability can continue with at least tens of other tips.

Only when you make sure that your website is well optimized for visitors' use, you can proceed to increase online traffic. As you know your site is usable and lead your visitors toward your desirable purpose, you can build the targeted traffic you intend.

Website Traffic & Website Usability Work Together

These two are complementary. You cannot enhance one and leave the other one. The best practice is to pay sufficient attention to the website usability first and make sure your audience can land at your site, surf to different pages and take action. Then, you can select a method to bring traffic to your site.

Likewise, it'll be useless to build a remarkably usable website for your audience, but fail to increase online traffic. So, what's the use of a usable website when there's no user?

Therefore, the best one can do will be to consider enough weight for both aspects of your website so that your web project bears fruit. Online business requires diligence and proper care so that you can achieve your results.

What's the Purpose of Increasing Online Traffic?

If it's not for the website visitors to make the best use of our websites, why should we increase online traffic? Isn't this the main purpose of bringing them to the website? So, why do lots of online businesses overlook this fact? Maybe for us to learn from their mistakes.

So, let's not forget how to do things in the right order: First increase website usability and second increase online traffic.
