Whether you are driving the classy convertible, luxurious sedan or the comfortable hatchback, one thing that is inevitable and applies to all of them is cleanliness. A clean vehicle is so important to create the perfect impression on the road. It also gives the person sitting inside a feeling of high. Washing an automobile can be an enjoyable task, if you know the right way of doing it. In the following lines, we have provided some tips on how to wash an automobile, easily and effectively.
Washing A Vehicle
Materials Required
- Two buckets of Water
- Car Wash Soap
- Hose
- 2 Wash Mitt or Sponge
- Towels
- Wheel Brush
- 2 to 3 Steel Wool Soap Pads
Instructions
- The first step would be to wash the automobile with water. For this, use the hose sprayer to loosen the dirt accumulated on the vehicle. Make sure that the force of water is not too much, lest, it grits over the paint and scratches it.
- Now, put some car wash soap in one of the buckets to prepare a foamy solution.
- Soak a wash mitt or sponge in this solution and begin applying it on one part of the automobile.
- Remember, you cannot sponge down the automobile in one go. So, washing it section by section would be the best bet. Starting from the top, wash it in circular motions. Wash the upper body first.
- Make sure you rinse the sponge frequently in the plain water bucket, to wash off the dirt.
- Once you are done with one section, rinse it with a hose before going to the next section. In case you leave the soap to dry, chances are that it might stain the vehicle.
- Ensure that you keep the whole car wet; by hosing it after every section is cleaned. This would help prevent the water droplets from drying on paint.
- Once you are done with the upper body, start with the lower section. Take a new sponge or wash mitt, as these are often the most dirty and gritty parts of a vehicle.
- Using a wheel brush, cleanse the wheels properly. Make sure that the brush is a little long in length so that it reaches every corner of the wheel.
- As for the wheel plate, rub it with the steel wool soap pads to ensure that it removes all the dull brown oxidized rubber.
- Lastly, with the help of towels, dry the vehicle. Your brightly, sparkling car is ready to take on the road!
Tips
- Avoid wearing accessories, as these might stick out and scratch the surface of the vehicle.
- Wash the car in a shady place, as direct sunlight would dry the car faster leaving unattractive streaks and residue.
- The best would be to park on grass or gravel, where runoff water can be absorbed.
- Start from the roof of the car and slowly come down to the lower section.
- Lastly, do not forget to shut all the doors and windows before washing.
